Most people searching for single-sided extension tape are about to do a tape-in install and need double-sided tabs instead. The test is simple: if hair is being attached to a head, you need two adhesive faces. If work is being done to the weft itself, one face is right.
We only make double-sided tabs
If after the questions below you still need a single-face tape, we're not the supplier. We would rather tell you that now than have a pack arrive that can't do the job. What single-face tape is for
Product names in this category are confusing, and single-sided against double-sided is where most of the confusion lands. Getting it wrong costs a pack of tape and an afternoon.
Two questions settle it.
Question one: what is the tape touching
| The tape will touch | You need |
|---|---|
| Natural hair on a head, plus a weft | Double-sided tabs |
| Only the weft, off the head | Single-sided tape |
| A wig cap or lace against skin | Neither. That is bonding tape or glue, a different category |
Question two: is there hair in the middle
Picture the finished bond. If a section of the client's own hair ends up sandwiched inside it, there have to be adhesive faces on both sides of that section, which means double-sided. If nothing of theirs is inside the bond, single-sided may be right.
That is the whole diagnostic. Almost everyone who arrives at this search from an install ends up in the double-sided row.
Why the wrong pack is an expensive mistake
- The tape itself, which cannot be returned once opened for hygiene reasons anywhere in this industry.
- The appointment, if it is a client in the chair and the right tape is not in the drawer.
- The install, if someone tries to make single-face tape work and the wefts come loose in week one.
- The hair, if that loosening turns into a weft hanging on a tangle at the root.
The last one is the reason this page is a diagnostic rather than a product pitch. A weft attached by something that cannot hold it is a snagging hazard, not just a disappointment.
If you do need double-sided
Ours come pre-cut, 60 tabs to a pack, which installs 30 sandwiches at $45. They are matched to our remover, so the release at the move-up is a known quantity rather than a gamble. And they will re-tab another brand's wefts, which is the usual reason someone already has hair but needs tape.
What we aren't the answer to
We don't sell single-sided tape, bonding tape, wig glue or lace adhesive. Three different categories, none of them ours.
We are not a hair supplier. If the weft is the missing piece rather than the tape, that is a different supplier.
And our tabs come in one pre-cut size. If your weft is a non-standard width, a roll that cuts to fit is the better tool.

- Double-sided tape tabs. Covers pre-install tab failure: contamination, liner handling and storage conditions.
- Tape for extensions. The head-term explainer: how tab packs are counted and specified, and why hold and release are a single decision.
- Hair extension tape tabs. A vocabulary page: the terms used behind the chair, and the counting-unit trap in pack comparisons.
Questions we get asked
How do I know which tape I need?
If a section of natural hair will end up inside the bond, you need double-sided. If the tape only ever touches the weft, single-sided is right.
Can single-sided tape hold a weft in hair?
No. There is nothing for the second side to bond to, so the weft is resting against the hair rather than held by it.
Is double-sided tape the same as tape tabs?
Tabs are pre-cut double-sided tape. Same product, cut to a consistent size so an install is repeatable.
Can I return tape if I buy the wrong one?
Unopened, within 14 days, yes. Opened tape and tabs cannot be returned for hygiene and product-integrity reasons, which is standard across this industry.
