A cosmetology licence is a state-issued credential and can be checked against the Utah Division of Professional Licensing register. Everything else on this page is stated as experience rather than as certification.

How this started

Jaci trained at Bon Losee and has spent twenty-one years doing hair, most of it with extensions in front of her. The products on this site did not start as a product line. They started as a problem she had every week: the hold was never the hard part, the release was, and an oil-based remover turned a move-up into a clean-up with a client watching the clock.

She developed the tape and the solvent as a pair with Tru Eastman, her mother, a licensed cosmetologist of forty years, and with the late Donovan Eastman, her stepfather, who drove the manufacturing side until his death in 2021. That pairing is the reason the remover is matched to the tab rather than built to work against everybody's adhesive at once, and it is also the reason we say outright that it underperforms on other brands' tape.

Tru was trained by Jaci's grandmother, who did hair on the Donny and Marie television show, and has spent her career taking on apprentices. That is family history rather than a qualification, and it is not a claim about how the tape performs.

What she actually does here

Every page on this site that ranks a product, compares a brand, or tells you how to do something is written against her method and reviewed by her before it publishes. The removal sequence, the dwell times, the sandwich counts and the honest limits all come from a decade of doing this daily rather than from a supplier's spec sheet.

The arithmetic is hers too, and where it argues against the product it is printed anyway. The remover is the most expensive in its category per ounce and that figure is published. The tab is the most expensive per tab and so is that one.

The conflict, declared

She makes the products this site ranks and compares. That is a real conflict and it's printed on every page where it applies, together with the axis each ranking was made on, so you can reject the axis. The method is set out in full on how we test, and the remover's formulation on what is in the bottle.

The limits of this experience

This is practitioner experience, not laboratory testing. There is no clinical trial behind anything on this site, no third-party certification, and no controlled comparison of our remover against a rival's on identical bonds. Where a number comes from a bottle lasting about a month in one salon rather than from a measured count, the page says so in the same sentence.

One salon is also one sample. Ten years of daily use is a strong basis for what behaves how, and it isn't a population. A stylist whose clients differ from hers may reasonably get different results, which is why the limitations are on every page rather than gathered into a disclaimer nobody reads.

She isn't a dermatologist and nothing on this site is medical advice. Scalp soreness, flaking, and new or sudden shedding are questions for a licensed professional and a doctor, and every page that touches hair health says so rather than offering reassurance it has no standing to give.

What isn't claimed

  • No press coverage, no media appearances and no influencer partnerships. There are none, so there's no page listing them.
  • No trade association memberships and no industry awards.
  • No published Safety Data Sheet for the remover yet. For a flammable alcohol-based solvent sold to professionals that's a real gap, and it is named here rather than left to be noticed.
  • No verified review platform, so there's no star rating and no rating markup anywhere on this site. The reasoning is set out in full on the reviews policy.

That list is here because an author page is usually where brands add the things they wish were true. The reviews policy explains the rating decision in full, including what it costs us, see why there are no star ratings on this site.

Questions we get asked

Who writes the content on this site?

Jaci Finch, a licensed cosmetologist in Utah with twenty-one years behind the chair, who co-developed the products being written about. That conflict is declared on every ranked and compared page rather than buried here.

What are her qualifications?

A cosmetology licence issued by the Utah Division of Professional Licensing, training at Bon Losee, and twenty-one years of practice. She isn't a chemist, a dermatologist or a laboratory, and this site does not present her as any of the three.

Is the performance data on this site tested?

It is practitioner experience from about ten years of daily use of this system in one salon. It is not controlled testing, and a controlled removals-per-bottle count is on the list of things this brand has not done.

Who else developed the products?

Tru Eastman, Jaci's mother and a licensed cosmetologist of forty years, and the late Donovan Eastman, her stepfather, who led the manufacturing development until his death in 2021.

Where is the business based?

Orem, Utah. Vanity Hair Salon at the same city is Tru's salon and a separate legal entity; it carries no Vanity Hair Solutions signage and isn't a stockist.

Is Jaci available for interviews or press?

This site makes no commitments about media availability. Enquiries can go to info@vanityhairsolutions.com and will be answered individually.
