Why it exists
Move-up day is where
most tape systems fail.
Every 6–8 weeks the wefts have to come down and go back up. That appointment is where traditional tape costs you time, costs the client comfort, and costs the hair. Vanity was designed by stylists around that one appointment.
The hold was never
the hard part.
Adhesive that grips for eight weeks is a solved problem. What is not solved is what the solvent leaves behind, a film that has to be shampooed out before anything will stick again, and an hour of the appointment spent on cleanup rather than hair.
- Traditional tape Multiple remover passes, heat, gummy residue, then a clarifying wash before you can re-tab.
- Vanity Mist both sides, release with a rattail comb, lift. The weft comes away clean and the hair is ready to re-tab.
Side by side
What changes at the chair.
| At the appointment | Vanity | Traditional tape |
|---|---|---|
| Remover passes needed | One mist, both sides | Repeat applications, often heat |
| Residue after removal | Little to none | Oily, gummy adhesive |
| Wash before re-tabbing | Not needed | Clarifying wash first |
| Move-up chair time | Noticeably shorter | Padded for cleanup |
| Stress on the natural hair | Releases, no scraping | Scraping and peeling |
| Wear window | 6–8 weeks | 6–8 weeks |
| Re-tabbing another brand's wefts | Fits the standard weft base | Varies by system |
The result
Hair that leaves
the chair intact.
The wefts are somebody else's. What we make is the part that decides whether they come out without taking anything with them.

Where we're honest about losing
A page called “why us” is worth nothing if it only lists wins, so here are the figures that argue against us. We are the most expensive tab in the category at 75¢ a tab, against Big Kizzy’s 13–22¢ on their published counts. We are the most expensive remover at $6.25 an ounce against their $2.12. We are alcohol-based, so we are never the right pick on an oil-based or citrus round-up. We don't make either, and those pages rank other people’s products.
Our remover was engineered against our own tab, so it underperforms on other brands’ adhesive. That limit is written up in full at does Vanity work with other brands, and what is in the bottle is on the ingredients page.
What you're actually buying
Time. A move-up you can finish in one appointment because there is no clarifying wash in the middle of it, and a strand that's dry and ready for a fresh tab the moment the old one lifts. Everything else on this site: the rankings, the comparisons, the method, exists to let you check that claim before you spend anything. Including who is making it: Jaci Finch, a licensed cosmetologist who developed the system and has the obvious conflict of selling it, and the problem it was built for.
