The method

How the tape system works, step by step.

One system, two procedures: how it goes in, and how it comes out. The point is not a new way to wear tape-ins. It is a way to take them out without the hour you used to lose.

Installation

Four things that decide
whether it holds.

Nothing exotic. Every failed tape-in we have taken down failed on one of these four.

01

Clean, dry hair

No conditioner on the root, no product at the panel. The tab needs a dry strand to grip.

02

Thin sections

A section you can see through. Too thick and the sandwich holds hair, not tape, and slips at week three.

03

Sandwich and press

Two tabs around the section, a finger’s width off the scalp, pressed properly with the application tool.

04

Twenty-four hours

No washing for a day. The bond is at full strength after that, and then it's a normal head of hair.

Removal

Removal in four moves.

No heat gun, no soaking, no second wash. This is the whole procedure.

01

Section and isolate

Part the hair and isolate the weft you're taking down, exactly as you would for any tape-in move-up.

02

Mist both sides

A light mist of the clean-release remover on each side of the tab. One pass. You are not soaking the bond.

03

Release with a rattail

Guide the end of a rattail comb between the two tabs. The bond gives without pulling on the natural hair.

04

Lift and re-tab

The weft lifts away clean. No scraping, no residue, no clarifying wash, press in a fresh tab and the client is done.

The full removal method

When a tab won't release

Mist it again and wait. The failure mode people reach for is force, and force is what costs hair. If a bond is still stuck after two mists and a patient minute, stop and treat it as a stylist job rather than pulling harder. That is the same advice we would give if you were using somebody else’s remover.

Working behind your own head is harder than working behind someone else’s. The at-home version of this method, including what to do when you can't see the panel, is in the at-home guide.

Between move-ups

Wash, sleep and swim normally after the first twenty-four hours. What walks a bond down is oil at the panel and heat directly on the tab, not ordinary life. The aftercare rules are in the aftercare guide, and the wear window and when to re-tab are in how long a set lasts.
